Chapter 5

The next morning, Albus, Peter, Derek, Holly, Andrea, Samantha, and James were sitting at the breakfast table eating, well, breakfast. Albus noticed that Samantha kept looking at Andrea cautiously, and Andrea seemed very uncomfortable.

"Are you all right?" Albus asked as she began to cough. Andrea nodded and took a drink of orange juice.

"I'll be fine," She said between coughs.

"Maybe you should see the nurse..." Peter said slowly. Andrea shook her head.

"I'll be fine, don't worry." She said. Somehow that didn't make Albus feel any better.

The first years had Potions that morning, so they all trudged down to the dungeons. Andrea was in the lead, followed by Peter, then Holly, Derek, and Albus. Holly looked at Derek.

"Oh, Derek, what should I do about...her?" Holly asked quietly.

"Just be pleasant and maybe she'll return the favor." Derek replied.

"But she's just so mean!" Holly stopped and frowned at Derek. "I wish we could change partners." She mumbled. They continued walking, and before long, they had reached the door to their class. The door opened and the gathered first years went in. Proffessor McGlinnin was at the front of the room already, waiting for them.

"Good morning, class," He said with a smile. Albus noticed that his eyes landed on Andrea and stayed there as she walked past his desk. Albus and the rest of the class sat down at their assigned seats and pulled out their potions books. Albus looked over at Andrea as she began coughing again. Proffessor McGlinnin walked over to her and spoke to her quietly, patting her on the back. He nodded his head then went back to the front of the room.

"Today, we'll be learning about certain potions effects on the nervous system." McGlinnin began. Suddenly, a diagram appeared on the blackboard behind him. It was a diagram of the human nervous system.

"As you can see, the nervous system is a complex thing. It looks quite a lot like wiring going through a house. Now, certain potions, like water or fire and a house, can damage the nervous system or just make it function wrong for a period of time. Today, I'll only be telling you the name of the potion and it's effects. You will not be learning how to make any of the more dangerous ones, but we may look more into some of the milder ones." He finished, then pulled a small vile out of one of his desk drawers.

"Now, who can tell me what this is, just by looking at it?" Andrea's hand shot up and McGlinnin smiled. McGlinnin nodded in her direction, signaling that she was allowed to answer.

"It's the potion 'Aravere'" She answered proudly.

"Well done!" McGlinnin said, then took the top off of the vile. He held it out from himself at arm's distance.

"Now, who can tell me how it works?" Andrea's hand shot up again.

"It can enter your body by touch or smell or taste, therefore, it's rather easy to get into someone's blood stream. It gives the body a tingling sensation that gradually increases in strength. It doesn't do much else than that." She finished then smiled.

"Very good," McGlinnin then put the topper on the vile again. Albus sighed and wrote down most of what Andrea had just said on his Potions scroll. He glanced over at Holly to see her slumped over in her chair with her arms folded and her eyebrows close together. Peter was whispering to his partner, and Derek looked like he was doing just fine. Albus looked at his own partner and decided that, although his partner wasn't completely evil, Potions wasn't one of his favorite classes.

My brother is the next great theological mind!

Okay, that's stretching it. :P By a lot. But, the other night, he did say something very deep. So deep, that I have to put it on here.

"But being human means going back to your sinful nature. I'd rather be Christian and be thought of as weird than go back to my sinful nature."

That may not be exact word-for-word, but it's pretty close. Here's MY version of it, meaning my wording.

"Being human would mean reverting back to your sinful nature, because we as humans are born with it. I'd rather be a Christian and be considered weird than go back to sin."

And now you have your lovely quote for the day. ;)

Chapter 4

Albus crawled through the common room door and walked over to the table that Andrea was sitting at. He and the others sat down and pulled out their own homework and began working. Albus glanced over at Andrea's scroll to see what she was working on.

"Potions?" He asked, slightly confused. Andrea quickly covered up her scroll.

"Um, yes." She replied quickly. Albus shrugged and went back to his own work.

An hour later, Peter had finished his homework and was helping Derek. Holly was chewing on the end of her pen, and Albus was finishing up his own homework. Andrea had finished half an hour ago, and was sitting over by the fire. Albus put his scrolls into his bag then walked over to sit by Andrea.

"I think I'm going to make my way upstairs soon," he said. Andrea nodded and stared into the fire. Peter walked over and leaned against the back of Andrea's chair.

"Ah," he sighed, "cozy." The three of them laughed for no apparent reason.

"DONE!" Derek yelled, jumping up from his chair. "Okay, my brain is beat. I'm going to bed." Holly looked at him and tilted her head.

"It's only eight o'clock." She said. Derek shrugged.

"So? I'm still beat." He replied, then ran up the stairs to his common room. Holly shrugged then stretched and yawned.

"You know what?" She began. "I'm a bit tired too. I believe I will go to bed as well." She said then skipped over to the fire. "Goodnight, all!" She then skipped over to the stairs and literally jumped up them. Albus sighed contently and felt his eyelids get heavy.

"I'm going up too, guys." Peter said. He began going up the stairs when he called to Albus and Andrea. "You lot coming?" He asked. Albus nodded and stood up.

"What about you?" He asked Andrea. She coughed then answered, not looking away from the fire.

"I'm not quite ready yet." She replied simply.

"All right, well, goodnight." Albus said, then he turned and walked up stairs.

Samantha slid down the rail on the staircase on her way downstairs. "Weeee!" She said quietly, then gracefully dropped onto the floor. She looked around at the empty common room...and noticed that it wasn't empty. She glanced down at her watch and saw that it was 10:00 p.m. "What in the world is someone down here for?" She asked. She skipped over to the fireplace where the figure was hunched over.

"Uh, hello?" Samantha said and the person looked up.

"Oh, um, hello." It was Andrea, to Samantha's great surprise.

"What are you doing?" Samantha asked, looking at the small cauldron over the fire.

"I could be asking you the same thing." Andrea retorted.

"Oh, well, I have a sleeping disorder, so I just kinda wander around at night." Samantha replied. Andrea nodded then turned back to the cauldron.

"So, what are you doing?" Samantha asked again. There was a pause before the answer.

"Extra credit." She replied softly. Samantha nodded then leaned over to see what Andrea was doing. She seemed to be making a potion. Suddenly, Andrea began coughing.

"You getting a cold?" Samantha asked. Andrea shook her head while coughing. Samantha watched her, not quite knowing what to do. "Are you okay?" She asked slowly.

"I will be." Andrea coughed out. Samantha looked at her warily then shrugged.

"Okay, then I'm gonna go explore. See ya!" Samantha ran over to the common room door and opened it. She stepped out, but not all the way. She continued watching Andrea from behind the door.

Andrea added a few more things to the potion then let it simmer for a bit over the fire. Then, after a few minutes, she took the cauldron off of the fire and poured its contents into a glass on the small table by one of the chairs. Samantha's eyes grew wide as Andrea picked up the steaming cup and downed the potion. Andrea shuddered then set the glass down and began picking up everything else.

Samantha closed the door then leaned against it, breathing hard. "Why did she drink her extra credit?" Samantha asked herself. "Unless..." the more she thought about it, the more she realized Andrea had lied to her. "But why?" Samantha asked out loud again.

"I don't know, but will you please get off of me!" Samantha jumped as the portrait that composed the door yelled at her.

"Sorry..." Samantha said, then began walking away at a brisk pace.

Pictures, pictures, and...more pictures!

This was the first picture I drew in the notebook I got for my birthday this year. :D I was playing with shading, but you dan't see it all that well on here...
Alvin...up to something...see the description for Theodore, and just insert Alvin where his name is. :P
This is a character that I made up for a Sonic fan fiction I'm gonna eventually write. Her name is X, and she's kinda my equivalent to a person in the Sonic world. I think she looks great. :D
This is my bro's character for the before mentioned fanfic. His name is Iggy.
Theodore baked me a cake! This was a picture I drew for my own birthday. :D I think it's cute...but Theo's the cutest. :P
The Chipmunks in action...I don't wanna give too much away, except that Simon has air around him, not water.

This is a Chibbi version of my baby bro. He's so sweet. :)
My 9-11 picture.
Manga face!!! I love the eyes!!!
...I guess I liked it so much that I accidentally uploaded it twice...oops...
This is un-colored, new-and-improved, Theodore!! I DREW A CUTE THEODORE!!! No, I did not steal this from KA. I just figured out how she draws her pictures through keen observation. *sneaky* :P

Wizard! :P What can I say? I was bored and inspired.
This one's for Rae...it's a terrible drawing of Scruffy. I hope you don't puke on your computer when you see it.
A flower, that I drew in the car. :D I actually started it by looking out the window, and since I could see the reflection of the paper in it, I just drew a kinda squiggly line, and it became the flower. :)
This was drawn in the same car as the flower...a bunch of lines...that make a picture...funky...
This is a Chibbi version of my cousin. Isn't it cute?

This is my baby bro and my cousin, inspired by a real scene where the baby took the big kids hat. :P Yeah, I know, it's not fully colored...deal with it. :P
This is my interpretation (kinda) of Maximum Ride...cartoon form.
Fang looks bored...:P
Iggy and Gassy are up to no good...I can tell that Gassman's attempt to look innocent is futile. :P
And Nudge. :D Angel and Total (and Akila, I guess) have not been drawn yet...heh heh...

A not fully colored picture of Sonic and Tails. It was for my bro when he came back from camp.
Another not fully colored pic of Sonic and Tails.
This is based on the song "Cinderella" which is beautiful and touching and an awesome song...I'll probably have a post dedicated to it later.
This is Max, Jamie and Miku from my Exo Force Fan fiction, for those of you who have read it.
My bro!!! Isn't he cute? :P

I haven't posted pictures in a while, so there are a lot to show...heh heh...I apologize for not posting them sooner, since I'm almost done with the notebook that I'm in...and started in the one I got for my birthday. :D I apologize for any blurriness in the pictures...I have to take them with my camera, so... I sure have improved...and over a period of months! Just goes to show you that practice really does make perfect. So, keep practicing, and enjoy! :D

EEEEP!!! *girlish scream of happiness* I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!!!

Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "Your book got published! Mii that's totally awesome!!!" But it wasn't my book. A bazillion years ago, I sent in a picture to Focus on the Family's Adventures in Odyssey department thingy. It was inspired by a certain episode of the radio series. (Which, is totally awesome, no matter what age you are.) And, they've just come out with a new book that has a bunch of things about Odyssey in it. And they just happened to publish some pictures in it as well. AND ONE OF THEM WAS MINE!!! Okay, the picture is totally awful, as far as I can remember, but I've been published!!!! EEEEP!!! And, to add to this happiness, I GOT THE LETTER THAT SAID MY BOOK WAS OFFICIALLY COPYRIGHTED!!!!!! Today is wonderful...and I drew an awesome picture. :P *sigh of pure bliss* I hope that you, too, will be happy today. :D
