It's not just a plot twist or a crazy scheme.
It's not just a memory or a forgotten dream.
It's more than how the dice have been played,
And it's more than how the cards have been layed.
Perhaps, in the grand old scheme of things,
Someone has flown away on golden wings.
Maybe, you've thought you had it all planed out,
To find that there's something to make you shout.
But worry not, for it's not random chance.
There's someone above who has had it all planned.
The plot of your life was written by His hands,
Whether we like it or not,
He was watching from the stands.
So even though you think you may have lost,
Or you think that your own dreams have surely been tossed,
Remember that God is there for you with a friend,
Even when it appears that you have...reached your end.
Lame title...wrote it when I found out an Internet buddy of mine had cancer and wasn't supposed to live past this month...decided to post it today.
This is my blog. The blog of Mii - an author, an artist, and an all around random person. Enjoy the show!

Independence Day
The boom of the fireworks,
The colors in the sky.
The smell of hotdogs on a grill,
And the wonder of a wondering sigh.
Independence allows us to celebrate
What we have every day.
The freedom to be who we want to be,
And the ability to say what we want to say.
So on this day I remember
Our men and women in arms.
The ones who fought for us then,
And the ones who fight for us now.
So lift up your voices, let freedom ring!
Remember how their blood was shed,
For you and for me, for our country.
And thank them, with a bow of the head.

I told her I was gonna write it, so here it is. Bear with me. :P
Mom, I said I'd write it, so just take a seat.
Just find a comfy chair and plant your little feet.
You say you don't like poetry, but please bear with me,
Because you're getting a poem, so just don't flee from me.
When life gave me lemmons, I didn't really know what to do.
So, I brought 'em to ya, and you told me what I should do.
Usually in a song, or a silly rhyme,
But that was the type of thing that helped me pass the time.
You're crazy, and you're goofy, and a little bit insane,
But that's why I love you, you're no 'ordinary Jane'.
You're fun, and you're helpful, you're also kind of odd,
But you are a gift from heaven, given to me from God.
Even though when I grow up, I'll probably need therapy,
(I know I won't be alone though, you have a sister, see?)
I'm still glad God gave me you, and I didn't have to pick,
Because He gave me the perfect mom, the one He knew would click.
:)

I love church...
A year ago, I probably wouldn't have said that to you. I dunno where we were a year ago, but I know it wasn't here. But I love it at our church. Our pastor makes you look at things differently, and it's really good. He taught our Sunday school lesson this Sunday, and it was about Psalm 23. He had us write it down, then split it up into 9 couplets, like a poem. When we looked at it again, we realized there was a beginning, middle, and an end. We just looked at it in a different way. It was awesome. :) I thank God that I like my church so much, and the people there too.

"The First Monday"
God made the heavens, the earth and the sea,
He made the creatures of the sky, land and sea.
He then made a man,
From the dust of the earth,
That's the only time man was given that sort of birth.
God watched as the man took care of the garden,
But soon saw that the man needed another human.
So when the man fell asleep,
God took from him a rib,
And made a person only slightly different from him.
Adam called her "woman",
And named her "Eve",
And the couple lived together happily.
Until one day a serpent,
(Who was the devil disguised)
Came before Eve's very eyes.
He said, in his manipulative tone,
"Woman, I see that you have a nice home.
And every plant here,
You're allowed to eat?"
The woman replied,
"What you have said is true,
Except for in the middle, none of that fruit."
That was exactly,
What the serpent wanted to hear,
So he brought himself closer to Eve's ear.
"Now, dear woman," he said with a smile,
If you eat of that fruit, it will make it worthwhile!
So take it, and eat it! Enjoy for awhile!"
And to the serpent's delight,
Eve didn't do what was right,
And ate from the tree in the middle.
But then, what was worse,
She gave some to her husband of unusual birth.
The two saw their sin,
And hid within,
The garden where they hoped God couldn't find them.
But God saw their way,
And had to curse them that day,
Although it saddened him.
So then the both had to work,
To make food come from the earth,
And woman was given pain in childbirth.
But what day was it when,
Sin first entered the land?
Was it Wednesday, or Thursday, or Friday?
May be it was the day,
(The dreadfullest day)
The day we now know as Monday.
Okay, I don't know if that's true or not, but I thought it would be kinda funny if it was, since everyone pretty much hates Monday. After all, during the school year, it's the first day of the week that you go back to school. For us, it's the day mom goes back to work after Sunday off. Nobody really likes Mondays, so I thought that it would be interesting if that was the day that sin first entered the earth.
Enjoy! :D
